Lily & Lion

“Be careful what you wish for, ’cause you just might get it…”

I like freedom as a writer. I enjoy being given a topic and having the ability to take it where I please. I like knowing the finale is completely in my control, the outcome relies 100% on me. Today, my boss afforded me the opportunity to do just that.

Our group is starting a weekly email campaign amongst our divisional employees. It will be in an “Ask the Editor…” format. I have the ability to take this simple task and make it huge in our group. Sure, it’ll add a butt load of work to my weekly routine as Editor-in-Chief of our newsletter, but hey, that’s the life of a writer. We thrive under crazy, chaotic deadlines. We’re not doing our best unless we’re pushed to the brink. Those crazy coffee-filled mornings are always the best. My new assignment gave me a much-needed wave of determination. Knowing my boss believes in me enough to hand both the newsletter and the email campaign over…..for once, I’m totally and completely at a loss for words. A rare occassion for me…

I look forward to absolutely rocking this task! Of course, you’ll be right beside me through the rough, insane patches that are sure to follow a project of this enormity.
