Lily & Lion

“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty-…”

I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a while now…it’s taken me forever to come up with a name, a URL, all that jazzy stuff. Now, here I am. Me, uncensored (well, mostly).

Your 20’s are a hard decade in your life. As a kid, I remember being so pumped to be in my 20’s. It seemed like the perfect age. You’re old enough for people to trust you and take you seriously (for the most part), but you’re also young enough for it to be socially acceptable to constantly abuse your liver on the weekend (or weekdays, whatever works for you). Nobody warns you about all the in-between scenarios. The whole finding love, dating, getting married, buying a house, saving money (ugh), buying cars, etc. I mean really, where is the fun in ANY of that. Okay, the married part is fun, but throw all those other sticky situations in to the mix and you have one wreck of a time. I guess as a little baby diva I always imagined those 20-something women had it all figured out. They sure seemed to from the outside.

Now I almost find it comforting to know that I don’t have all the answers. I constantly do things wrong. In fact, some days I do things wrong intentionally, just for a good chuckle. I’m in the part of my life where it’s okay to be chaotic, disorganized, disheveled, confused. If there’s a 20-something female out there who has figured out how to perfectly navigate life, please send a road map my way. Until that day, I’ll be here….weaving my way through life’s curveballs, entertaining you all one misstep at a time.
