So, a new look, new name, new feel…I’ll (eventually) get around to explaining the shift, but for now, I thought I’d start getting used to crafting different types of posts. I know you’re all VERY concerned that I’ll turn into another one of those cliché fashion blogger girls you see on Instagram. Don’t worry – I have no intention of completely losing my voice in lieu of clothes, recipes and lifestyle tips. There will still be posts about my life, posts about my emotions, how I’m dealing (or not dealing) with the stress of life. I just feel I need both right now.
I started this blog as a creative outlet, a place I could write the way I wanted, when I wanted, as often as I wanted. So much of that is lost in the marketing/creative services industry nowadays, and I needed to bring a piece of it back. This site still remains my haven, my online journal…I’ll just try to chronicle more things than my humdrum thoughts on life, love and the pursuit of happiness.
Like this post. Yes, it’s about clothes…but it’s also about highlighting a really awesome service that I have been using for years. I tell people about it all the time, and some women still look at me like I’m crazy. I thought everyone knew about renttherunway, but I guess I was wrong. So now, I’m imparting my wisdom to each of you. Still in the dreaded wedding phase with your college friends? Not to mention the bachelorette parties, the showers, the engagement parties, etc. Then there’s your company Christmas party, your 10-year HS reunion (when did I get so old?!), your best friend’s cousin’s nephew’s baby shower, and so on. For women, all we read from that list is, “HOW MANY DRESSES DO I NEED?!” Enter Rent The Runway. Instead of paying retail price for an outrageous number of dresses per year, you can rent them! And rental prices are really affordable – I borrowed a Monique Lhullier dress last year for under $150! Plus they offer jewelry and handbags for rent as well.
I rented this beauty for my husband’s work Christmas party this past December – it was incredible. It even has hidden pockets! Needless to say, RTR knocked it out of the park for me again.

*My husband’s suit is custom – I know, he’s Mr. Fancy Pants. I remind him every day!
